Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and hands-on Reliability Technician to support the reliability engineering and quality assurance teams in executing testing and maintenance procedures for medical devices. This role involves performing equipment maintenance and calibration, executing test protocols, and ensuring full compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). The ideal candidate will have experience working in a regulated environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail in performing tasks that directly impact product safety and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure testing accuracy and compliance.
  • Execute medical device reliability testing according to written protocols and procedures.
  • Clean, sterilize, and prepare medical devices for testing in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately document all activities using GDP, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support materials management activities, including tracking, labeling, and storing test samples and components.
  • Assist with manufacturing and laboratory test activities as directed by engineering or quality teams.
  • Operate test equipment and systems safely and efficiently; report any anomalies or equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers, quality personnel, and technicians to support reliability and product improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in engineering, life sciences, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or testing environment—preferably in medical devices or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and FDA/cGMP regulations.
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions and test protocols with precision.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems and laboratory equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cleaning and sterilization procedures for medical devices.
  • Prior involvement in reliability or validation testing.
  • Understanding of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, or other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Experience with materials handling and inventory systems.
